SDA provides the standard SD Host Controller Specification. The standard Host Controller controls both SD Memory Cards and variety of SDIO Cards. This specification will help an SD host system design particularly an SD Host Controller and its driver designs by using standardized implementations.
The standard SD Host Controller Specification defines a standard register set to control SD Memory Cards and SDIO Cards. Further, the specification provides a sophisticated DMA (Direct Memory Access) function to achieve high performance of data transfer between an SD host system and an SD Card.
