SD-Video (CPRM Optional)

Making Video More Portable

SD-Video specifies the audio and video codecs and file format that allows users to view video on a multitude of SD products. Unlike SD-Audio, use of CPRM is optional. Users can even record digital broadcasts onto their mobile phones and other devices.

SD-Video supports a myriad of formats, including MPEG-2, MPEG-4, H.264 and VC-1.

Broadcasting Content Recording

Now digital broadcasting program can be stored on an SD memory card in H.264 (PS) format. In the future, large sized high-definition content is expected to be recorded on SD memory cards. (Now available in Japan).
